Issue Position: Do you support or oppose elimination of "social promotion" in public schools -- that is, allowing third-graders to advance to fourth grade despite reading deficiencies?

Issue Position

I support this. Students should not be promoted in grade level if they are not proficient in all subjects. Reading is a skill that they will need for a lifetime. Therefore this should not occur.
